Professional overview

Dr. Aman Priya Khanna is a general, bariatric and laparoscopic surgeon. He trained in general surgery through the National Board of Examinations and has since built a practice in two connected areas: the surgical and non-surgical treatment of obesity and metabolic disease, and advanced minimal access surgery of the abdomen. He completed a certification in robotic surgery in 2021, and holds an MBA in Hospitals and Health Systems Management from BITS Pilani — a qualification in how hospitals and health systems are managed, held alongside his clinical practice.

Dr. Khanna holds four separate qualifications in this field — a Diploma and a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy with a bariatric focus, and Fellowship of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons.

Alongside bariatric and metabolic work, his surgical practice covers advanced gastrointestinal procedures, advanced abdominal wall hernia repair, and laser techniques in proctology and vascular surgery. Since 2021 he has been a Director at HexaHealth, a patient care platform.

Areas of expertise

01

Advanced Metabolic Bariatric Surgery

Surgical treatment of obesity and the metabolic conditions that accompany it. These operations change how the stomach and digestive tract handle food, and are considered only after a clinical assessment establishes that a patient is an appropriate candidate.

02

Non-Surgical Intragastric Ballooning

A non-surgical option in which a balloon is placed in the stomach as part of a weight management plan, without an operation. The Allurion balloon is among the options offered. Suitability is a clinical judgement made at consultation.

03

Advanced GI Laparoscopic Procedures

Keyhole surgery of the gastrointestinal tract, performed through small incisions using a camera and specialised instruments rather than a single large opening.

04

Advanced Abdominal Wall Hernia Repair

Repair of hernias of the abdominal wall, including complex and recurrent cases, using minimal access techniques where appropriate.

05

Laser Vascular Procedures

Laser-based treatment of vascular conditions, used as an alternative to conventional open vascular surgery in selected cases.

06

Laser Proctology

Laser-based treatment of conditions affecting the anus and rectum, including piles and related conditions.

Approach to patient care

My patients don’t come to me to lose weight. They come to me to find themselves again — and that is an entirely different mission.

Dr. Aman Priya Khanna

Treatment recommendations follow a clinical assessment that looks at metabolic health, body composition and lifestyle — not weight alone. A consultation may conclude that a procedure is not appropriate, and that is a legitimate outcome rather than a wasted appointment.

Care that continues after surgery

The procedure is the beginning, not the end. Patients receive ongoing follow-up, lifestyle guidance and long-term support.

Deeply personalised, never generic

A roadmap built around your body, your goals and your life — listening first, prescribing second.

Transparent, ethical, unhurried

Honest assessments, realistic expectations, and no upselling. Patients receive what they need, explained clearly and decided together.
